This cultural centre is built on the historic site of the first Maori landing in NZ and includes a Wharenui (Maori temple), a museum and exhibition space, dining areas and ceremonial spaces. All buildings are primarily built on a hardwood skeleton with integrated ESD technologies such as roof top solar panels, passive ventilation, triple glazed Low-E glass panels and skylights and thermal mass elements.
